The Southern Fried Poetry Slam is the Final Four of competitive poetry and has grown to be the second largest poetry convention in the nation attracting a diverse array of over 200 poets and over 40 teams from all over the nation. The Southern Fried Regional Poetry Slam will kick off in Tallahassee's Gaines Street entertainment district. The three-day event will be hosted by the nationally acclaimed Black on Black Rhyme Poetry Collective and take place at select venues in the area culminating with The Southern Fried Regional Poetry Slam Finals. The Gadsden Arts Center is located 10 miles northwest of Tallahassee in Quincy, Florida. The curator of exhibitions manages all aspects of exhibitions from research, prospecting and conceptual development to make recommendations to the Exhibitions Committee to the handling of art, exhibition installation, contracts and records. This position assists with exhibition-related marketing, the development of exhibition-related education programs and related educational materials. A college degree in art history, art administration or museum studies, and experience with art exhibitions required (internship experience OK); a Master's Degree strongly preferred. Entries are now being accepted for juried show artists to apply to be in the Festival, as well as entries for a poster and t-shirt design which will promote the 2008 Destin Festival of the Arts. $8,200 cash prizes to be awarded. The National Wildlife Federation invites artists to submit images to our 2008 photography competition—our biggest Photo Contest in 38 years. The ASCAP Foundation supports American music creators and encourages their development. The foundation provides grants between $3,000–$5,000 to nonprofit organizations engaged in educational programs for aspiring songwriters and composers. The foundation does not consider requests for general operating or administrative support, annual giving campaigns, capital purposes, endowments, deficit operations, recordings, marketing efforts, or performance and production funding.
