Donations needed for the Florida Public Relations Association Annual Roast & Toast Dinner (Deadline: August 18, 2008) The Florida Public Relations Association is looking for donations for silent auction donations for their signature fundraising event. The event is attended by 400 of Tallahassee’s most prominent business and community and leaders and will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at The University Center Club. Art of Giving: Holidays at LeMoyne (Deadline: August 29, 2008) The Art of Giving: Holidays Exhibition and Sale at the LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts will run from November 27 to December 24, 2008 and is open to all local artists to submit two or three dimensional works. The works must be priced from $25- 500 and be available for “pay and take” purchase. Out of Pocket II: a small art invitational at the Gadsden Arts Center (Commitment Deadline: August 31, 2008) You are invited to participate in Out of Pocket II: small art invitational, an exhibition of small art at the Gadsden Arts Center. The concept for the exhibition is to showcase area artists’ works created on a smaller scale (Image size not to exceed 25 square inches 3D may not exceed 8” x 8” x 8” including base) so that they may be affordably priced, between $50 - $250, and thus accessible to a broader audience. Each artist who chooses to participate in this non-juried invitational is asked to submit three pieces for the exhibition running from October 10 to November 2, 2008. Nine the Musical Presented by Theatre A La Carte (Friday, August 15th at 7pm & Saturday, August 16th at 2pm) Prepare a song of any type and bring sheet music toThe Dance Studio(3840 N. We are seeking someone to help us inform the public about the exciting history of Mission San Luis via tours, programs, and daily interpretation. Interpretation will include demonstrations of period crafts, skills, and chores while attired in 17th-century clothing. Willingness to learn and explore traditional crafts is also required. Experience with handcrafts such as carpentry is also a plus. Incumbent may be in the role of an Apalachee Indian or Spanish resident of the 17th-century Mission. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus. Additional responsibilities of this position will include program preparation and clean up, opening and closing of reconstructed buildings, and other related tasks. COCA Announcement: Leon County’s Cultural Tourism Grant (Application Deadline: August 26, 2008)

The application for Leon County’s Cultural Tourism Grant program (previously known as Leon County’s Cultural Development Grant) is now available online at http://www.cocanet.org/assistance/grantforms.html. The grant program is designed for non-profit, tax exempt cultural organizations operating primarily in Leon County who have an impact on tourist expenditures. COCA offers one-on-one technical assistance to anyone wishing to apply; simply call us to make an appointment. Free workshops for this grant will be held July 29 and 30 in our offices (816 S ML King Jr Blvd) to provide an overview of the application process and answer specific questions.
