Out of Pocket II: a small art invitational at the Gadsden Arts Center (Commitment Deadline: August 31, 2008)
You are invited to participate in Out of Pocket II: small art invitational, an exhibition of small art at the Gadsden Arts Center. The concept for the exhibition is to showcase area artists’ works created on a smaller scale (Image size not to exceed 25 square inches 3D may not exceed 8” x 8” x 8” including base) so that they may be affordably priced, between $50 - $250, and thus accessible to a broader audience. Education Program Specialist/Living History at Mission San Luis
OPS $10.00 per hour, 40 hours per week. We are seeking someone to help us inform the public about the exciting history of Mission San Luis via tours, programs, and daily interpretation. Interpretation will include demonstrations of period crafts, skills, and chores while attired in 17th-century clothing. Willingness to learn and explore traditional crafts is also required. Experience with handcrafts such as carpentry is also a plus. Incumbent may be in the role of an Apalachee Indian or Spanish resident of the 17th-century Mission. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus. Additional responsibilities of this position will include program preparation and clean up, opening and closing of reconstructed buildings, and other related tasks.
